He | Him

My name is Heart (he/ him) and I am a trans social worker. I hold a Masters of Social Work from Columbia University. I am a white, queer, fat, neurodivergent psychotherapist living with chronic pain. My practice is a mix of relational, psychodynamic and mindfulness-based self-compassion. My energy is warm and grounded. My style infuses intuitive knowledge with self-reflection and insight, alongside connection. My work is embodiment based and rooted in abolitionist, trauma-informed, feminist, and intersectional frameworks. I’ll ask you how you’re feeling in your body and we’ll address healing by acknowledging both individual narratives and systemic experiences.

I am interested in working with you on topics such as: identity, belonging, rejection sensitivity, home, migration, queerness, transness, grief, shame, addiction, neurodivergence, harm reduction, fat liberation, self-compassion, body love/ acceptance/ neutrality, sexuality, pleasure, joy, chronic stress/ fatigue, chronic pain, and emotion regulation.

I am energized by working with people who are creative, spiritual, self-reflective, passionate, sex workers, kinky, non-monogamous, highly sensitive, transitioning, caregivers and care workers, empaths, non-9-5ers, entrepreneurs, slutty, wellness workers, individuals seeking reprieve from 9-5 jobs, caretakers, radicals, leftists and activists. I have experience holding space with folks around assessing their relationship to alcohol and substances and how it may need to shift, whether that be from a 100% abstinence/ recovery method, or a harm reduction approach.

I am a Certified Yoga Teacher and Reiki practitioner, and may incorporate that into my psychotherapy offerings if you desire. I am happy to lead or end a session with meditation, grounding, and/ or breathwork. I am invested in art, sex and play as tools to re-imagining our world and figure out how to build the world we want to see.
