I’m Vegas K Jarrow, (born Vijay R. Nathan) — a graduate of Naropa University with a mindfulness-based transpersonal degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently enrolled in a PhD program at Saybrook University in Transformative Social Change. I am an inclusive practitioner and I seek to make each and every client feel at home in their own being. As a straight, cisgendered, Indian-American man, I endeavor to hold space for different lived experiences with an open mind and an open heart.

I was a librarian in the Queens Public Library system for many years, serving the information-seeking needs of the public. I was inspired by Jungian psychology and a relationship to mentors to return to school to get my degree in Mental Health Counseling. I’m a Buddhist-inspired humanistic practitioner, and I believe that we all deserve to view ourselves as inherently good. I am driven by the philosophy that we have what we need, and that when we can settle into the present moment we are better able to enjoy the wild ride life has to offer us, rather than viewing it all as suffering.

I would love to work with clients seeking support in life transitions, clients who are processing trauma, clients who want to explore the sacred masculine and unpack conventional, patriarchal masculinity, and those who are interested in expressive arts and mindfulness exercises I can provide to ground you in the present moment.

In my spare time, I’ve been the host of The Truth to Power Show for 8 years now at Radio Free Brooklyn, interviewing various community members and displaying how they achieved their own truth of empowerment of themselves and their communities. I am a published poet and a storyteller in various shows and performances. I believe in the power of the individual to overcome various obstacles and reach a place of power in their own right.
